Mobile Speed Is a Sales Metric, Not a Technical One
Every additional second before your page becomes usable removes a share of the people who would have contacted you.

Where the seconds go
Uncompressed hero images, unused script libraries, third-party tags added years ago for a campaign nobody remembers, and web fonts that block the first paint. Almost every slow site is slow for the same handful of reasons.
Fixing them rarely requires a rebuild. It requires someone to audit what is actually loading on a mid-range phone over a normal mobile connection.
Design decisions that protect performance
Reserve dimensions for every image so the layout does not jump. Serve modern image formats at the size they will actually display. Defer anything below the fold. Load video with a poster frame and respect visitors who have asked their device to reduce motion.
These are design choices as much as engineering ones, which is why performance has to be part of the brief rather than a cleanup task after launch.
Tie it back to enquiries
Track form starts and completions alongside page performance. When you can show that a faster template produced more enquiries from the same traffic, speed stops being an abstract score and becomes a budget line that defends itself.
